Man Claims To Be Jesus Christ In Lagos [video]

A man who gave his name as Omowole Isaac Omogoroye has declared himself “the only son of God”.

Omogoroye, who declared himself ‘Jesus Christ’ appeared in Lagos, and also declared that he is the next president of Nigeria who is set to take over Aso Rock villa.

The self-acclaimed “Jesus Christ”, who spoke with SaharaTv was formerly a President of the University of Lagos Students’ Union.

He said he was appearing to different countries of the world as the awaited son of God expected to redeem the world.

Omowole added that the government of Nigeria will change its name to the New Jerusalem of the Bible as he is set to take over Aso Rock as the next president to rule the country.

Samsung Electronics announced plans to recover gold and other metals components from recalled Galaxy Note 7 smartphones in order to reduce waste.

The South Korean company expects to retrieve 157 tons of gold, silver, cobalt, copper and other metals from millions of smartphones that were recalled and discontinued last year after their batteries were found to be prone to catching fire, the company said on Tuesday. Samsung didn't give information about how it would use the retrieved metals.

But Samsung said in a statement that the phones' display modules, memory chips, camera models and other components will be separated from the Note 7 for sale or recycling.

In another effort to reduce waste, Samsung has begun selling 400,000 units of Galaxy Note FE phones in South Korea made from unused parts of recalled Note 7 smartphones.

The Note 7 crisis was one of the biggest black eyes in Samsung’s recent history, costing the company more than five billion US dollars. Airlines banned passengers from carrying Note 7s on flights due to safety concerns and millions of smartphones were shipped back to Samsung.
The phone recall fiasco prompted Greenpeace to urge the South Korean tech giant to sell longer lasting electronics products that are easier to repair and upgrade. Environmentalists fault smartphones for increasing the amount of tech waste, though some experts note that by replacing other appliances they may actually decrease the amount of high–tech–related rubbish overall. Samsung is the world’s largest smartphone maker.

Google Glass is back with a new edition, after its failure as a consumer product.

The first generation of the smart display and camera, unveiled in 2012, was initially feted by both the tech world and the fashion industry.

However, after going on public sale in 2014, Google Glass received tons of criticism and legislative action due to privacy and safety concerns. In January 2015, the company announced it would stop production, and Google Glass seemed a shattered dream.

Yet, Google Glass didn’t really die. Released on Tuesday, the second version of the electronic glass, named Glass Enterprise Edition, is focused on serving enterprises rather than individual consumers.

The enterprise version of Google Glass is a wearable computer for people to consult for information and other resources while their hands are busy. Users are supposed to be able to work in a more hands-free way by wearing the product, the company claimed.

The major upgrades between the original Glass released in 2012 and the enterprise version are a camera with higher resolution (from five megapixels to eight megapixels), longer battery life, faster Wi-Fi and processor, and a new red light which indicates video recording, the Verge reported.

The new version of Google Glass has also been made modular in the shape of a so-called Glass Pod that can be detached and reattached to compatible frames, which can include things like safety goggles and prescription glasses, according to the Verge.

By using the new Glass, workers at AGCO, an agricultural machinery manufacturer in Jackson, Minnesota, have reduced machinery production time by 25 percent and inspection times by 30 percent, Google said. Workers don’t have to go back and forth to access checklists, view instruction manuals or send photos from tablets or laptops as they assemble machines, as they can do all the tasks with the help of Glass.

There are currently more than 50 businesses from various industries using Glass to assist their work, including AGCO, DHL, Dignity Health, NSF International, Sutter Health, The Boeing Company, and Volkswagen, Google detailed in a Medium post.

An APC ward chairman in Delta State has been taught a bitter lesson after thugs invaded his house and descended on him mercilessly.

It was a sad day on Monday for Mr Eddy James Onajite who is the All Progressives Congress Chairman for ward 8 in Uvwie Local Government Area, Effurun, Delta state after he was attacked, beaten and stripped by irate thugs.

According to PoliticsNgr, this comes after same thugs attacked Senator Ovie Omo-Agege on Saturday leaving him in severe pains. The unidentified thugs are yet to be arrested over the incident.

The Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has abandoned his desire to seek re-election in 2018.

In its place, he has launched his presidential campaign on Facebook.

Fayose had initially said he would approach the Supreme Court to determine his eligibility to run again for the office of governor of his state because of his inability to complete his first term in office.

The governor, whose impeachment then had been declared null and void by the Supreme Court, had said there was need to finish his first four years in office.

Fayose, who is the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, was one of the two governors in the party who spoke vehemently against the continued stay in office of the former National Chairman of the party, Ali Modu Sheriff.

Ironically, the governor was also among the few governors who brought the former governor of Borno State to the office of the national chairman of the former ruling party.

The PDP had zoned the position of the party’s presidential candidate to the northern part of the country.

It is, however, not clear if the party would go back on this, but analysts believed that Fayose could be positioning himself for the position of running mate for the party’s presidential candidate.

The three organs of the party, which are the Expanded National Caucus, Board of Trustees and the National Executive Committee, met in Abuja in Monday. The meeting continues on Tuesday (today).

Portuguese top surgeon, Gentil Martins has slammed Cristiano Ronaldo for having his twins by a surrogate.

Martins also vowed to reveal who the real mother of Ronaldo’s son, Cristiano Jr is when he grows up.

The surgeon branded Ronaldo’s decision to have twins by a surrogate as ‘degrading and sad.’

Recall that little Eva and Mateo were born in the US last month, before being taken home to live in Madrid with the football ace.

Martins said his Ronaldo’s actions mean he should be stripped of his role model status.

He told Expresso, “I consider it a serious crime.”

The 87-year-old surgeon who is a pioneer in the separation of Siamese twins, added, “It’s degrading and sad.

“Ronaldo is an excellent athlete, he has tremendous merit but it’s moral stupor: he cannot be an example.”

Martins blamed Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro for his actions.

He said, “Everyone has the right to a mother.

“I think one of the main people to blame for this situation is Cristiano’s mum.

That woman didn’t give her son any education whatsoever.”

On Ronaldo’s first son, he added, “People speculate I was with this girl or another, or there was a surrogate mother. I have never told anyone and never will.

“When Cristiano [Junior] is going to grow up, I am always going to say the truth to him because he deserves it, because he is my son, but I am not going to say because people want me to say.”

Nigerian singer, 9ice was a guest on Rubbin’ Minds and he spoke about his recent song “Living Things” that caused a stir on social media a while back.

Samsung installs its largest-to-date cinema LED screen in Seoul

South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics has recently installed its largest-to-date high-resolution LED screen in a cinema, boasting the world's first commercial cinema LED screen.The screen, unveiled at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Seoul, is 10.3 meters (33.8 feet, or 406 inches) wide, featuring full 4K resolution (4,096 x 2,160) and a peak brightness level of 146 footlambert, a unit measuring light intensity.

Samsung said in a press release that the brightness level is 10 times greater than that offered by standard cinema projectors, adding that the screen offers a "distortion-free" presentation showcasing "the brightest colors, deepest blacks and most pristine whites at a nearly infinite contrast ratio."

To complement its visuality, the screen is paired with a sound system developed through the collaboration of Samsung Audio Lab and JBL by Harman, an audio equipment producer, which according to Samsung, can provides "an unparalleled sight and sound experience the way the content creators intended."

"Through sharper and more realistic colors, complementary audio and an elevated presentation, our cinema LED Screen makes viewers feel as if they are part of the picture," said H.S. Kim, president of the visual display business at Samsung Electronics.

Samsung claims that the new product maintains its advanced presentation capabilities in a range of dark and ambient lighting conditions, making it an "ideal" choice for corporate events, concerts, sports viewing as well as game competitions.

The screen was debuted in March during the CinemaCon 2017 conference in Las Vegas, US. The CinemaCon, held annually in Las Vegas since 2011, has become the largest and most important gathering for the worldwide motion picture theater industry, according to its website.

Samsung Electronics, arguably the most renowned South Korean company, is currently in a tumultuous situation as its alleged involvement in former president Park Geun-hye's corruption and influence-peddling scandals saw the arrest of the company's vice president, Lee Jae-yong, in February.

Dutch Researchers Test Floating Cities

Dutch researchers unveiled on Tuesday a model of what could become within two decades a floating mega-island to be used as a creative solution for accommodating housing, ports, farms or parks.

Made up of 87 floating triangles of different sizes, the huge, flexible island made of concrete or steel would eventually stretch 1.5 to two kilometers, or a total of three square kilometers.

Squeezed for space in this tiny northern European country, "some cities are starting to look into floating solutions, like a floating park on the river for example, where they want to have an area for recreation close by the city center," Olaf Waals from the Maritime Research Institute of the Netherlands (MARIN) said.

If plans for floating islands go ahead, it would be a twist in the history of this low-lying country, much of which down the centuries has been reclaimed from the sea and which is protected from the waters by an intricate system of dykes and canals.

"In these times of rising sea levels, overpopulated cities and a rising number of activities on the seas, building up the dykes and pumping out the sands is perhaps not the most efficient solution," said Waals, referring to common methods to reclaim land.

The model, which measures roughly six by eight meters and is made of wood and polystyrene, was laid out on Tuesday in a huge water tank to simulate wind, waves and storms, in a presentation for several potential investors.

The project remains at the early stages, the institute said.The islands would be anchored to the sea bed and also moored to the shore. But tests still need to be carried out on how they will withstand weather conditions and tidal movements and how to make them self-sufficient in energy and resources, as well as on the effects on marine life – and the cost.

"Technically it could be feasible in 10 to 20 years from today," Waals said.

Residents in California may soon find a delivery robot showing up at their door step instead of a mailman.

Set a destination, load up a package, then Robby the robot is off and rolling.

Engineers from the Robby Technologies are testing their robots that can cruise sidewalks at either walking or running speeds, with a load up to 45 kilograms.

Founded by two PhDs from MIT, Li Rui and Dheera Venkatraman, Robby Technologies has built the robots with computer vision cameras that can see 10 meters ahead in all directions.

If the robot runs into a situation where it doesn't know what to do, for example, a passerby refuses to move out of the way, it can send a message to the control center so that it can talk. If one decides to break in, an alarm will be triggered.

"Currently, the delivery cost in the US and China is pretty high, especially the last mile delivery part. That actually takes up about 30 percent of the overall delivery cost," said Li, who is also the CEO of Robby Technologies. "We see a big opportunity there to use self-driving robots."
